Ok, well i have 2 adult creamsicles housed together. again, i dont want this thread to be a bashing thread about why not to house them together, i know already. But my female shed sometime last week, i found the shed skin easy as both snakes are 5 feet long. well i got home from thanksgiving and my male was a milky color with steel eyes, a sign of him getting ready to shed. i took the female and put her in my feeding box, and tried to feed her, but she wouldnt eat, even left her in the box till the morning and the f/t mouse was still there. didnt feed the male because of him shedding, going to feed him today and try her again. Now the male is back to his normal colors, but i cant find his shed? i looked real quick, and sifted through a little of the bark substrate im using and nothing. so my question is, would the female have eaten the shed? she hasnt eaten in 3 feeding now. or maybee somehow it got balled up and thats why i cant find it? im gana look again in a few min. any oppinions?

could it be that he shed his head, but not his body yet? because his colors dont seem really bright like people said it would.

Go buy and read a book, I recommend Corn Snakes : The Comprehensive Owner's Guide by Kathy & Bill Love, 2005 (http://www.cornutopia.com/Corn%20Utopia%20on%20the%20Web/-%20BOOKS%20POSTERS%20herp%20for%20sale%20Cornutopi a%20corn%20snakes%20cornsnakes.htm) or Corn Snakes in Captivity by Don Soderberg (http://www.cornsnakes.net/cornsnakesincaptivity.php3).

Easier yet, this forum does have a search function. I recommend using it.

After being in blue, a snake will go "clear" for a few days before shedding.

He probably hasn't shed yet. Shedding usually happens a few days after the milky color goes away.

In regards to your female: It's recommended to wait about 5 days before attempting to feed again for fear of putting the snake off food.

Also- not eating is a sign of stress so, I'm not trying to bash but I think a major stress factor could be the fact that you're cohabbing and you may want to think about separating them.

Agreed. I know you don't want to be bashed, but you really should rething your cohabing strategy if the female is showing signs of stress.

I have actually seen them eat their shed like in the post above....but usually it was just because it got stuck to the pinkie and they just kept swallowing....much like they will do with a stray aspen chip if you let them.
