Last week I posted a thread to find out whether my snake had a regurge or not. 2-3 replies suggested that it was poo so I feeded "Elvis" another fuzzie. Now 3-4 days later I found the same brownish thing as last time. However, this time I had a closer look and took it apart with tooth picks. It did not give off a very strong bad small, only a very fishy smell when getting closer to it ( 20 - 30 cm ). There is also some yellowish liquid on. Now I am very convinced that this is a regurge, but why doesn't it smell like a rotten corpse as so often mentioned in this forum? And why did it take Elvis 3 days to get rid of it ? I also found some poo in the viv which was black with some white substance attached.

I am very new to corn snakes so any advise will be appreciated.

I'm editing what I posted earlier now that Jen has posted the link to the pic. It does look like a regurg. In the search option, look up Kathy Love's regurg protocol. Do you know if you're able to get Nutribac in your country?

If they are in your computer, click where it says "manage attachments" and then "browse" to find it on your comp. After you select them. click "upload photos" and they should appear.

That is definitely a regurge. The longer it's in his system, the less it will look/smell like it originally did.

Snakes generally regurge because they are handled too soon after eating, but if this has become a habit of his, it needs to be stopped. The more a snake vomits, the more likely it becomes to do so. I suggest consulting a vet, if you know any. Watch him carefully.

Thks for your reply. I can't get Nutribac here in Thailand. However, I think it will be OK if I wait for 10 days and then start to feed 2 Pinkies to Elvis for a couple of weeks. He looks very strong !

Thks for your reply. Unfortunately so far could not locate a vet familiar with snakes . I have Elvis now since a few weeks and never handled him at all after he had his meal. However, I changed from 2 Pinkies to a small Fuzzie 10 days ago so perhaps the Fuzzie was too big.
