Ok, today I got circ out--he'd just finished digesting and I saw something on his side. It looks pretty bad in person--like there is blood around/under his scales, and when he bends the spot looks like a dent. He's been in his viv since Wednesday, and he was fine then. Anyone have any idea what this is, and what I should do? I'm freaking out a little, and I think I may need to take him to the vet.

Please let me know what I should do and what you think it is and what caused it!

Yeah, he is his usual self--active and moving around. He isn't favoring that part. I took his aspen out and put him on paper towels so it is a bit cleaner for a while. I may just take him to the vet as soon as I can, but I'd like to know what could have caused this inside his viv, so I can prevent it from happening again!

Sarah, I'm so sorry! Poor little circ! I'm typically not one to rush to a vet with my animals, but I've not dealt with snake injuries, either. I think that might be your best bed. Do you have branches or anything he might have fallen from?

I just found a vet, and e-mailed them, they are open tomorrow, so maybe I can get him in to be seen by someone. They seem good--they even have an intake sheet for reptiles. If not they open at 7am, so I should be able to go in before work.

I think the stupid snake is hurting himself on the plastic lip of his tub--I don't know what to do about it!

I'm sorry circ is hurt. I do rush to the vet with everything so that would be my advice... but I have no idea what it is...

Please keep us updated...
