Designing clay hides

Are you familiar with Sculpey brand clay? You can bake it in your home oven. I use it for customizing MLP toys, and making figurines but was thinking I could make snake and small animal hides.

My big problem is what to make them look like?

I have acrylic paints and a nontoxic sealer to use in finishing them or can leave them plain after being baked. I'm looking for what designs you would like to see and measurements suggestions.

Thanks!

I've decided to go ahead and start work on one. It will be very basic, round with a bowled effect on top so it can double as a water dish. I will post photos when it is done :)

Oooh post some pics when you're done! Sculpey III is my bread & butter. I have a bigger tool box for my sculpey than for actual tools. I started work on a snake house hide (dog house style, w/ siding & shingles, I was thinking maybe a name plate on the front) but my big block of sculpey & primo are hard & crumbly and I gave up. I need to pick up some more.
