Is a Standard Procedure Follwed With WC Corns?

Lately, I've seen a few threads featuring WC snakes... The one featuring a WC S.C. "normal" (beautiful!) really caught my eye! If you plan to keep a WC snake, even temporarily, is there some sort of procedure followed such as quarantine, deworming, removal of parasites, etc.?

I'm curious as to what is exactly done, and if you perform lab tests before administering any medications. As mites are oftentimes difficult to see, would it be prudent to use an anti mite product anyway, or would you trust visual inspection alone?

Thanks!

Dan :)
