UGH, bad shed

My '06 is having a real bad shed... and I don't know why. I raised the humidity to 70%+ (like always), provided a humid hide, but he's just having a really hard time. He's never had a bad shed for me before, ever.

I let him slither through a warm, damp washcloth and a lot came off. The good news in that the tail tip came off in one piece. The bad news in that he hasn't broken open his head... so both eyecaps are still on at this point.

I was thinking I would make a small (feeding tub sized) box with damp paper towel and put him in it for a while (like an hour). He has a humid hide, but isn't a fan of it.

Other ideas? Other things I should be doing?

Can you soak him and then peel the skin backwards over his head? Soak for 20 minutes or so, on a rough washcloth.

Ok, I'm going to soak him now - just to be clear, you want me to lift from behind his head toward his nose, yes?

Just roll it backwards off his head like a sock, if you can. Gently.

Ok, gotcha. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the help.

Well, I took him out and he had taken off the top part of his head himself, so that was a big relief. I just took a damp wash cloth over him again and got off the bottom jaw area, and now he's all fresh and shiny.

Thanks again, Nanci.
