Body shape near the vent

I'm a new poster, but a long time lurker...

I've had my cream for about three years now, she eats and sheds regularly but the area ahead of her vent is pooched out like she has a few on deck. She seems to poop regularly but I'm wondering if I'm just feeding her too often for everything to digest. She dosen't seem to be in distress, is fairly active, not aggressive and overall acts normal. I feed her weekly, and she is always ready to eat.

Any info is much appreciated!!!:grin01:

How much are you feeding her? If you don't have any intention of breeding, she could probably eat every 10-14 days and be just fine.

As usual, pics always help.

Welcome to the forum.

"...a few on deck...?...."

I'll snap some pics tomorrow. I don't have any intentions of breeding so I may just be feeding her faster than she can move the excrement.

When I said "a few on deck" I was eluding to the fact that she may have a few weeks worth of poop that hasn't come out yet!!!

I thought that (maybe) that was what you meant. I have a couple of picky eaters (who've decided they all want to eat tonight), that I wish would eat every time I offered. In that respect, I think you are lucky. But I do believe over time pets can become so habituated that they will eat every time offered, which can end up being too much.
She would not eat if she could not digest.
Now, I have noticed some...sedentary...adult CB snakes that seem to be a little...overweight. And agree with the old-timers who say that that is as detrimental to a snake as it is to a human.

Does it look like "hips", or the start of hips? If so, I'd definitely cut back to every 10-14 days.

That's probably the best way to describe it!!! I'll put her on a diet for the next month or so and see if it goes away!!

Thanks guys!! I'll still post some pics tomorrow for all to see.

Brilliantly succinct and accurate.

I find it a little funny, too. :D ;)

I'm no expert but I am gonna go out on a limb here and say your girls a tad hippy! I'm thinking a cut back in food and a bit of excercise are in order! She is beautiful though!

Thanks!!! She has a great temperment, never been snappy and is always friendly. She does like to eat though!!! I'll cut back for the next few months and see how things go.

Thanks everyone!!!

Hips! Those be hips! LOL.
For those hips, I'd cut back to every 14 days, and exercise every other day (or every day).
