my 2 year old regular corn snake has a very odd appetite. he refuses to eat for 7 weeks on end and then eats like a pig. i had him checked out by a vet and i know that it isnt because of shedding....he seems to be okay now but every so often he gets extremely thin. he is also very picky - he eats frozen mice but he only accepts the grey and white ones. he won't eat the black ones or others he deems "not right" do u guys think he is sick in some way or is he just stubborn? pleaz write back:)
 
Some snakes are like that. It's just a snake's personality. Don't worry about it too much. But then of course you'll have to worry if it gets too thin and that it's skin is starting to get wrinkles...... but remember to keep fresh water in the enclosure all the time. When it wants to eat, it'll eat.

One more thing.... how old is your corn? Also what is the gender? For a yearling -adult male, it might not be eating because he still thinks its breeding season.....some will not eat during this time. Maybe that is why it's not eating.

thank u for replying! he is a male and hes around 2 years old so your probably rite. he just had me worried when he got so thin because he was very thick and heavy when i first got him.:)
