I'm guessing you're seeing her organs... on light colored snakes, they're often visible, and look like dark marks under the surface. It's easy to miss them at first and be alarmed by them later.

Probably. ;) Or you're seeing some poopy that's recently moved down into the digestive track.

The organs of light-colored snakes, as mentioned, can be seen through their skin especially held up to light or when about to poop. You can also see the mouse move through their body sometimes. As far as I know, this is normal and not a cause for concern. In fact, it's sort of a little warning if you don't want to be pooped on!

It leaves out a few things, like their vestigal left lung and several organs, but I'd say for a basic, "AHHHH WHAT IS THIS DARK MASS ON MY CORN SNAKE" chart it does it's job :)

*nope, the left lung is just hiding in the corner. My bad.

Hmm, I don't know Em. Perhaps you should send it to me so I can more accurately judge that particular snake... a year of observation should be good :)

You know, the next time he shoots said poop out all over me while hissing and striking, I might just send him to you!
