We spotted a Beautiful King Snake

We spotted a beautiful Speckled King Snake today in a friend's back yard. This specimen is also known as an Appalachian King Snake or Eastern King Snake. Although the Eastern King Snakes generally have the yellow rings as well as speckles, whereas this one is only speckled.

The dog was barking at it, so we secured the dog so the snake could make its exit unhurt. This was in Mt. Juliet Tennessee, about 20 miles East of Nashville.
