king snake influence in tessera morph?
Saw someone selling anery tess's on kingsnake and half of his sale post is claiming that he's discovered with his tessera's that the pattern and intensity and sharpness of the colors in their morphs is due to hybridding with striped california kings. I know there was another post about this before but what is everybodies input on the subject? Do you think tessera is a hybrid trait or is it truely a corn specific gene?

I really don't have much knowledge on the subject, but I think they're pure corns.
|
Pretty sure they are pure corns also. There is nothing at all that would indicate other wise as far as I know. And unlike the ultra gene, I think the original breeder of the tesseras knows the back ground. But someone else can answer better.

$150 for anery tesseras is a REALLY good deal lol.
But it makes me wonder if the breeder has thrown kings into the mix. http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=65&de=971806 |
Do yourself a favor & search the BOI, so you can read how trustworthy & reliable the source is.

Might want to BOI that one...

"Conclusion: Between Creamcicles, Ultramels, Tesseras and other basement breeders, our Mutant Corn Snake Gene Pool, is not pure Corn.".. between that statement & how low he's selling these morph Tesseras it sounds to me like he is ready to get out of Tesseras & is trying to take down a few respected corn breeders in the process..

His females are just as cheep: http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=65&de=971805
Maybe with his "hybrid" theroy he thinks they are not worth what others are selling them for? |
True, but he has to know posting that will have repercussions for other Tessera breeders
