Good news/Bad news

Bad news first... Long story short(ish), my wife got my son an amel from PetSmart that had never eaten for them. I tried several different tricks to get it to eat, but the only thing that worked was a live pinkie. She ate the live pinkie immediately, but then regurged a few days later. Waited until her next feeding and tried again with the exact same result. Took her back to PetSmart even though we were past their 14 day return policy and they agreed that she probably had a health issue that she shouldn't have been sold with.

The good news... They had a nice looking butter motley there that was a proven feeder, so we went ahead and bought that one for my son instead. We're very happy with the motley, but still pretty bummed about giving up the amel. Anyway... Here's a couple pics of the motley. Pretty sure it's a male, but I'm not certain yet.

Sorry to hear that about the little Amel.
I hope the new one does better for you!

I went through almost the exact same thing. I received my first corn snake from PetSmart 2 1/2 years ago. He was a gift from my long time partner because he knew I always wanted a snake. He NEVER had a successful meal. We tried everything except for the live feeding because we didn't know where we could get a live one. Our baby was a little less than 5 grams so he was tiny and PetSmart should've never sold him to us! After two months of refusing to eat or regurgitating his meals (we were surprised he lasted that long) we took him to a vet specialist. He said the only thing that could be done was to force feed him through a tube and so we agreed. But on the way home from the vet, he regurgitated. He passed away a few days later but I never wanted to give up on him because he was my first. I'm sorry you had to go through that but I am glad you were able to find a solution and hopefully PetSmart gets their act together!
