Should i keep doing this?

Well here we go. My corn is 50cm's long (1ft 8inches) and I've been feeding it every 7 days since i got it. It's eating a single fuzzy now but I think i have to move up to 2 fuzzys next month (not sure , you tell me) since it's hard to see a lump after 24 hours. I've been feeding it every 7 days because the store told me to do so. It's a reptile store with snake specialization and I did not once got bad advice from them. But here comes the problem: Since i have it (2 months) it only grew 0.5cm (0.2inches) Is this normal? Should i switch to give it a fuzzy every 5 days?

How old is it? Do you know its weight? How are you measuring its length? Has it shed since you got it?

Some snakes grow fast, others take time and grow slow. Some snakies were meant to be shorter & bulky others longer & lean.

The only snakes I know that can be long and thicker girth wise are hybrids (such as creamiscles that have rat snake blood) or regular Okeetees.

If your not seeing a bump after 24 hours, stay on the 7 day feed cycle and bump it up to 2 fuzzies. I use to do that with my snake. Now remember, the more food that your giving him the longer it will take to digest! :) But no worries...is normal.

I don't get anything from those links. Maybe it's time to move up to hoppers? The food item should be about the same diameter as your snake.

Hoppers are way to big for him at the moment, fuzzys are the good food for him now.

@sarah: He shed once since i got him, the weight i don't know, i don't have anything to weigh him here. The exact age i don't know but he's a 2010 and i guess he's a early summer, so 6 months old or so..

Well then, if your not seeing a bump after 24 hrs...then try giving him 2 fuzzies but keep it every 7 days :)

Okay i will, thanks for the answer, i just took pictures for measuring again so i'm gonna track them on pc and i'll have the length in a few minutes.

haha They are just measuring pics but i'll start a progression thread on the guy in a minute.
Well or he has done some serious growing after the switch to fuzzys or my previous measurement was incorrect but he's now 51.60cm so he's growing good.

Once they get off of pinkies & fuzzies and start hitting some serious food like hoppers and weanlings....holy crap will they start growing quick!!!

Yes, yes, progression pics are awesome! ;)
