viv. sizes in metric anyone?

imperial volume measurements mean absolutely nothin to me, can anyone talk into metric please.

i got a 1.2mx0.53mx0.47m viv for once my guy gets big enough, what sorta a size do you reckon he needs to get to so he's not overwhelmed in it?

and is there such a thing as too big?

If your measurements are accurate, that's a 79 gallon tank. That's the Taj Mahal of vivs. Half that size would be roomy enough for even the largest corn.

That's a lucky snake. The only hesitation I would have on keeping a baby in that size is purely selfish. It would be really hard to find him when I wanted to.. If you don't mind digging around though, go for it! As well as lots of hides, I would also put lots of cheapy fake plants in there too so he won't be scared to leave the warm hide for the cool one or the water bowl or whatever. You don't have to make it look natural, just some little branches and fake foliage to drop over it. Also I'd recommend using plain old paper under him till he's well started.. Good luck!
 
heres a quick approximation for you to use if it's any help

2.5 cm= 25mm= 1 inch
therefore
30cm= 300mm = 0.3 m = 12 inches = 1 foot
100 cm = 1000 mm = 1 m = 39 inches = 3ft 3 inches
as for gallons, could someone explain that to me:shrugs:

Thats a big viv, about the same size of the one my adult is in, but if you provide lots of hides like suggested above it could probably do for a little one as well - just check he sint spending ALL his time in one of the hides and being too scared to venture across the other end!
 
he wont be going into the big viv. until he's grown a fair bit, easily 6 months down the line, if not longer depending on how he grows, got him in a pet keeper just now, you knwo the tubs you can section off, he's in the smallest section just now cos he's just a wee guy the now.

we kinda figured he couldnt have too much space and the 4ft tank was on offer so why not we thought, obviously theres no hurry to move him as we dont want to overwhelm him
 
1 inch is 2.54 cm. I cubic inch is 16.38 cubic cm.

There are 231 cubic inches to a gallon or 3,676 cubic cm to a gallon.

A 36 inch long by 24 inch wide cage would be 91.5 x 61 cm.
