Silicone against scales, will it cause any discomfort?

I had an idea to pick up some of those cheap silicone garlic peeling tubes from the kitchen section of the dollar store and try them as hides for my hatchlings. My only concern would be that maybe it would be uncomfortable or harmful to their scales in some way? It seems that they move through them alright and do use them as hides luch like a smaller version of a toilet paper tube. Its should be easy to sanitize and is cheap to buy in bulk so if there is no problem I find with using them the silicon cupcake "papers" could also be a useable option. I know I'm being silly but I've just never heard of this material being used and want to triple check that I'm not potentially damaging my babies unknowingly.

I would think they would only "stick" to glossy silicone, so as long as it's a soft matte surface it should be fine.
