For anyone old enough and considering getting a National Parks Senior Pass

The price on the LIFETIME senior pass will be going up on August 28, 2017 from $10 to $80.

Too young (barely). But $80 for life is sill a pretty dang good deal...

Yeah, but $10 is an even better deal.

I already have mine, but Connie was talking about getting hers too, so I guess she had better shake a leg and get it done. I'm sure she would rather have that extra $70 in her pocket rather than giving it to the government.

I wish Florida would do something like this for seniors with the State Park Pass.

You know my boyfriend Rich333 lives in Ohio. Their State Park system is free. I guess they probably just pay for it by taxing everyone, rather than charging fees to the actual users. It's still nice.

Perhaps the state park systems would get more participation with a lifetime senior pass. I know many times when Connie and I are on our travels, we might see a state park that looks interesting, but not interesting enough to pay $5 just to see what it looks like.

And push come to shove, the land these parks reside on already belong to us, the people. Of course, just seeing how the goombas around here throw trash helter skelter out of their vehicle windows just driving down the road, it's easy to understand how such lowlifes have made things difficult and more expensive for the rest of us. Someone has to clean up after them, and usually that cleanup isn't for free. I live on a road that is quite likely only traveled by people who live on or directly off of it. Every once in a while Connie have to go out with trash bags to clean up the garbage our neighbors have thrown out of their vehicles and litters a road that they must travel every day. How the results of their own littering doesn't hurt their own eyes or sensibilities is just way beyond my comprehension.

I can't believe how many young? people drive around here and throw beer cans along the streets in our area. In my younger days I enjoyed a beer, but driving around and throwing the cans out of my car wasn't the high point of my day. What it amounts to is a lack of respect for others, and lack of self respect too. The only good thing is our church has been collecting aluminum cans to fund projects, so I can usually come up with a lot of beer cans. The only thing I wanted to tell the pastor was where I am getting the cans, so she doesn't turn me in to AA.
