black snake in bird house

My friend that lives on a small farm took this pic. He said this black snake made it around the netting he put up under the bird house to deter snakes. Obviously it did not work this time as he said the snake ate two baby blue birds that were inside. I told him he has to take the good with the bad....less mice and rats and maybe a few less birds. Just mother nature doing it's thing.

Rat snakes are good climbers and they do like birds.

That surely is a big black snake, I just hope that it hasn't eaten any bird yet.

I had one years ago that got out of her cage, and managed to get outside. She spent Spring going from nest to nest under the awnings of the townhouses, clearing them all out. I found her (well, a neighbor found her lol) and the first thing she did was poop feathers...Great pictures y'all, here's my Licorice guy getting some tree time out back
