Odd Issue
 

Can snakes get calcification growth like other objects from bad water? I know the water in my trailer park isn't the best and leaves white stains on almost everything from lime or calcium or something, I'm not sure; before we go to the vet I wanted to ask in case it's just the water I need to start getting filtered store bought -- I admit I hadn't cleaned her viv. in a while but due to cold weather and pads not saying stuck to the bottom of the tank I added a heat lamp and I"m not sure if that was too close cus 3 days after adding that noticed odd white rash (?) on her face & neck, other than distress over I'm sure vision impairment she seems ok -- immediately put her in her feeder box - she ate and I did a deep clean on her cage and changed the water for store bought spring water, giving her a bath when it was all done -- the whiteness goes away when wet.. anyone experienced anything like this?? Should we go to the vet asap or is waiting and seeing if the clean store water & tank cure the issue? Pictures attached

I've never seen a snake get calcium build-up on the scales, and I have well water that leaves that on everything. Is it possible she is getting ready to shed?

If your heat pads won't stay stuck, you can use aluminum tape (the heavy duty kind) to tape it to either the bottom of the viv, or to a ceramic tile placed under the viv. You can find it at Home Depot or stores like that, in the HVAC section.

It almost sounds like the heat lamp caused the scales to dry out. I used well water for 35+ years, including using it in my aquariums. Even though it contained a lot of lime, the reptiles were not affected, or showed any signs of a problem. Since bottled water is relatively inexpensive I would continue using that for your corn snake. You can certainly take her to the vet, but I'd wait until her next shed to see if the problem still exists. But do affix the heat pad as Nanci suggested.

She shed the day after I posted this..turned the heat lamp off and mounted it further away, she's been looking good after the shed so must have just been dried out - about to shed. Thanks :D
