I took my yellow rat out to make sure she isn't losing weight while brumating as per usual. She only lost 6g in the last month and was grumpier than I expected. She gave me a bite and left a tooth in my hand too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Wow That tooth is so tiny!... I guess this may be a dumb question, but I don't think I've heard of a toothless snake... Do they grow new teeth when they lose them?
Do they sometimes 'shed' teeth? (either lost in the cage or maybe swallowed if they come loose while eating? |
My understanding is that snakes grow teeth throughout there lives. They may come out when feeding and I assume are swallowed, but I do not think a snake sheds them regularly. It would be very hard to notice if they did, though.
