    Partner for an Amel?

I was wondering, what would be a good breeding partner for an Amel? I would like something that is not a normal with hets, that acctually shows a mutation. I would also like something with amel in it that will produce some amel offspring. Thanks.

    Blue bulbs for lighting 24/7?

I may be getting a Ball Python pretty soon, so to add an aesthetic touch to the enclose of it, I plan to put some blue lights over the enclosure, which apparently don't affect the day/night cycle of BPs. Now, I would also like to add blue lights to my corn's enclosure, but I'm not sure if it...

I have to give it to him...

Flame's been under a lot of stress lately. First off, I found that he regurged a little over two weeks ago. I have still yet to feed him for numerous reasons. I plan to feed him at some point this week. I recently moved into a new house this last weekend, so this added extra stress on Flame...

    Flame regurged...

I fed him last Thursday, and when I came back yesterday he had regurged. My family is in the process of selling our house, so I feel that it ight have been the home inspection people who spooked him. Temps are fine, and I can't really see any reason why he puked.

    Flame seems small

Flame's weight seems to be on the low side for his age. He is 7 months old and is 60 grams. He's not skinny though, you can't see his backbone and he is actually a pretty toned snake. He just seems a bit small. I would guess his length is about 20 inches. Do these seems like the propper dimensions?

    7/3/08-7/30/08 PA/MA/VA Trip

I saw lots of things... A waterfall (at a low water level) The same waterfall (at a high water level) An underexposed shot of a water, with a long exposure with gives the water a mystical look The New River Gorge Bridge A deer (how exciting...) The previous deer's fawns (I had to get...

    Just how bright?

Just how bright does an Amel have to be to be a sunglow? This has always perplexed me for some reason. I also have heard that it has to do with white saddle borders, right?

Flame: Mid '07 Creamsicle Progression Thread

Now that I have a camera, and tons of spare time, I will be taking lots of pictures of Flame. I figured that since he still has some to grow, that I would start a progression thread for him. As far as Flame goes, I am very happy with his colors. He is maintaining a bright orange color, and it's...

    West Virginia Species?

I'm going down to West Virginia over the July 4th weekend, and figured that since I'm going to be camping and rafting/kayaking down there, and will be outdoors a lot, that I might as well do some herping. There's plenty of opportunities, and the best place to find snakes is in between the rocks...

Next Pet: Corn Vs. Bearded Dragon?

I was reading up on beardies the other day, and they seem like pretty cool pets. It's either another corn or a beardie. Which do you think?

    D40

Because of my good grades (straight A's) my parents have offered to get me a camera. I think they were thinking more along the lines of a point-and-shoot, but hell, I'm not getting a camera if I have to deal with one second more of that P/S business. I will pay whatever my parent's arent willing...

    Regurge?

I believe my corn has regurged twice, and both times it looked almost like a partial mouse, a probably under 3/8 of an inch wide and that sort of had an inch long trail of brown stuff leading away from it. Both times it was on the surface, which was a little odd, as that isn't characteristic of...

    Decomposition of frozen mice?

I'm not sure if decomposition is the right term, but my frozen mice seem to become darker after the first 2 weeks of being frozen. They then seem to have darker brownish spots on them. Is this normal? I would post pictures, but I don't have a camera in my possession at the moment.

    Ugh... Regurge

Flame, doing very nicely at 42 grams, had his first regurge a day or two ago. :eatsmiley :-puke01: This is my irresponsible fault, as I was not at my house often enough to monitor temperatures and adjust accordingly. Oh well, no crying over spilled milk. The good news is that I am taking the...

    The First Fuzzy

Following Dean's advice, I went ahead and got Flame 5 fuzzies. I was a little skeptical, because they seemed massive, and were a huge size difference from the pinkies. So today came feeding day, and I defrosted the 7g fuzzy with apprehension. I brought it to the tank, and placed Flame in his...

    Propper Fuzzy Size?

3/4'' wide, 2'' long (nose to the beginning of the tail), and 8 grams. Sound about right? I just bought them and they seem massive, even though Dean thinks my corn can handle them. :shrugs:

    Sunburnt Skin

I was thinking, as I handled Flame after he had just shed, why the heck is he jerking around so much? Well, thinking back to CS, I remember a thread or discussion about this. Someone had said that they think that a corn's skin right after a shed is like being sunburnt for humans. So, I figured...

    Proper Humidity?

I know that somebody has probably posted the proper humidity for corns somewhere, but the search bar hates me for some reason...:( So what is the proper humidity for corns? I'm wondering about it for shedding reasons. I've noticed that my "climate control" (heating, and even AC) dry out the air...

    Capital Username?

I feel so informal without a capital letter in the beginning of my username. Can I fix this? I would PM Rich about it, but don't want to bug him until I see if there's any other options.
