    Sex that snake!

I know this has been asked a thousand times, but I am at a loss. I bought this "guy" a little over a year ago. Last years breeding with him was a bust, but I didn't think much of it. This year is going the same way, he doesn't want anything to do with the ladies. So I did what everybody would...

    Not interested?

I put my big hypo het butter in with my miami, and he made no reaction at all. I left him in the tub for almost two hours and misted the tub after about a half hour of no action. I know my females are ready because my amel went right after my snow, and my male lav did the same with his lav...

    questions about my rack, hehe

I built a standard rack a couple months ago out of white melamine. It has six shelves that hold two large sweater tubs a piece. I have 4 strips of 4" heat tape running vertical along the back, two for each tub. What I have a question about is the difference in the temps of the heat tape and the...

    how much heat tape?

I am in the middle of building a rack :crazy02: , and I have not yet decided on how many strips of heat tape to use. I plan on using the 4 inch heat tap, unless otherwise advised, on the back of the rack. The rack is 36 inches wide and 42 inches high. It will have two 28 quart tubs on each shelf...

    When?

When is it time to help in the egg laying process? I have read people that help the next day or longer than a week. I have a female that laid two slugs outside her box and I am waiting to see if she can work it out on her own. I have the longer version posted in the husbandry forum. Thanks.

    Eggs!?

About seven weeks ago, my wife and I decided to breed our two hypos together. The male didn't seem that interested so we threw our amel male in with our hypo female to see what would happen, this was our first attempt at breeding so we were a little anxious. And he went right after her...

    contibuter emblem?

I became a contributing member last night and I can get into the insiders forum, but I don't have the emblem and still listed as a registered user under my name. Does it take a while for it to kick in? I was hoping to post a sale ad tonight. Should I PM somebody? Thanks Jason

    I am surrounded by females!

I just took one of my "male" amels to a store to do a swap for a huge anery male. The owner took one look at my snake and said it was a female, kinda changed the whole deal. Being that this my first year actually caring which sexes my snakes are because I want to do some light breeding, I came...

    crumbly urates

Is crumbly a word? Any way, I feed my male amel tonight and he pooed right after he ate and the urates were crumbly or grainy instead of a single mass. The poo itself looked fine and it didn't smell particularly bad, not that it smelled good either. But it there was a lot of water too, so at...

    Same/different

These are my two amel males Hannibal and Beefcake, but comparing the two they aren't that close in coloring. Is that just an example of the broad genetics that the corns have or is one not just an amel? :crazy02: P.S. These two and my females are on the photo forum. Thanks

    New, but not really.

Hi, I'm JasonS(simple so I remember!), I live in Washington, and I'm a cancer. Now that I have that out of the way, I have had a corn for a couple of years but I am now getting serious about breeding a few genetic morphs and have between 15 and 20 snakes. The morphs We (my fiance for another...

    bad eye shed

My two year old female corn had a little hiccup on her last shed. On her right eye there looks to be a thin layer of shed on half her eye. I have given her a bath and held her with a warm, damp wash clothe. Any suggestions?

    Didn't eat it

I offered a fresh killed rat to my snake last night and she did the whole grab and coil like she always does (I guess the twitching makes her think it is still alive), but she didn't eat it. I left her in her feeding container over night with the rat in hopes that she would but when I got up...
