    how big are your snakes????

Lucy is a year and a half old and she shed the other day so I took the opportunity to measure her shed because she wiggles entirely too much to actually measure her. It measured at a whopping 47 inches...thats almost 4 feet!!! Is that normal for a Corn snake? I thought they only got to be 6...

    New agressive behavior...what gives???

Lucy is a year and half old, she's always been super mellow. But recently she's gotten really agressive. She rattles her tail at anybody who comes near her viv and even struck at a friend of mine who went to pick her up. She's NEVER done that before. Her temps are normal, she's been...

scaling back feedings for older snakes?

My corn is a healthy '05 amel. Very active. I'm still feeding once every 7-9 days...should I be scaling back? She's downing 3 hoppers per feed (am going to switch to adult mice as soon as we use up the rest of her hoppers since the 3 hoppers barely leave a lump) I know adult snakes eat less...

    air fresheners harmful???

My snakes tank stinks a lil bit. I spot clean every time she poops and change the shavings and clean her tank every 3-4 weeks but it still smells a bit. If I put an air freshener in my room will that be detrimental to her lung health?

    feeding live makes them mean???

Somebody told me that feeding your snake live mice will make them mean. As in they'll be more apt to strike whenever they see movement. I feed f/t and Lucy is very docile...has never offered to strike even when in the blue. So is it true? Those of you who feed live, do you have to watch...

    buying hoppers???

My corn is ready to move up from fuzzies to something else. Somebody recommended hoppers. None of the pet stores around here sell hoppers (they sell fuzzies and the next food item they carry is mice which are too big). Is there somewhere online where I can order them??? I've been to three...

    Step up From fuzzies???

Whats the next size up from a fuzzy? I thought it was mice but the mice the pet store showed me were huge. I can barely see a lump when Lucy eats her fuzzy now, can't see one at all if its a smallish one. After today I'm gonna start her on 2 fuzzies. She's shedding once a month, sometimes...

What do u clean your tank with?

Lucy's tank stinks a little bit. Next feed I was gonna use some mild dish soap and water to clean it out. Is that a bad idea? What do y'all use to clean tanks?

    F/T versus Live???

I have a corn who's about 4 months old, I just switched her to fuzzies. Her weight is good and she's really started growing. I've had her about 3 months. She's very healthy and active, absolutely textbook. Her feeding response is phenomenal. I just bumped her up to 1 fuzzy every 6-7 days...

    when to upgrade from pinks?

My Lucy is a ravenous feeder, she gets fed every 5 to 7 days, always go straight for her pinks and has not yet had a regurge. She's been tolerating 2 pinks now for about 5-6 feedings with barely a noticeable lump afterwards. Is she ready to switch to fuzzies? I've had her abt two months now...

    Quick question regarding personality

Lucy is definately developing a personality of her own. She is very mellow, no hissing/striking/musking she hasn't even pooped on me yet. The daily handling has her threading her way through my fingers and she now considers my hands a safe place. (if I have her out and something scares her she...

    how often do they shed?

This is probably a stupid question but here goes anyways. How often are corns supposed to shed? My corn is roughly 3 or 4 months old. I've had her for 3 weeks now and she has only shed once. Is that normal? I just moved her up to 2 pinks a week, she's been tolerating it fine. No regurges...

    What color is this considered?

This is my corn, Lucy. For all y'all experts out there, what color is she? (and just so I don't get yelled at, no I wasn't picking her up like that. When putting her back in her cage I let her crawl off of my hand at her own pace)

    How much to feed?

My baby corn is a few months old per my estimation. About 18 inches long and about as bit around as a womans pinky finger. She's getting one whole pinky every 7 days. Is that enough? She hasn't shed yet but I've only had her about 10 days. I don't wanna starve her. What do you y'all think?

    Tada!!!

I fed my very first snake for the very first time today, she chowed right down.Put her in a lockable feeding tub, popped in a pinkie and she went right to work. Was a little worried I wouldn't do something right but she seems to be tolerating it just fine. gave her a few mins to finish...

    Hellllo. I'm new.

I just bought my first cornsnake a few days ago. I haven't had her sexed but I call it a she as a reference. And she came into an all female household so if she were a he it'd be out of place. Anyways, her name is Lucy. I'm a first time snake owner and was told that corns were a good...
