Thermostat Probe Question

Hello guys, I've been reading up on cornsnake care off and on for the past 10 years but I am now in a position to finally get a cornsnake. My corn is arriving on Friday but I am getting a head start on setting up the enclosure and making sure everything is in working order.

I have everything pretty much good to go, except for the thermostat. So originally I had the probe just below the bedding but it was reading way too low and the actual floor was reading about 90. So I moved the prob to the floor of the enclosure and now it's reading way too high and the top of the bedding is only reading about 77-80, even though I bumped the set temp up to 90. I am wondering if there is a happy medium.

Thank you.
