Bulletin board style forums are ancient. I don't think there are any that can handle 4k photos. Either use Imgur to host (though they've made it difficult for newbies to figure out resizing) or one of the many resizing sites you can find through a simple google search.
 
Sorry, but those large files will need to be stored on my server, where available disk space is not infinite.

I suspect most people aren't using 4K screens to view images anyway, so storing those large files on my server would just be kind of senseless.

And excuse my ignorance, but do mobile devices have 4K screens on them?

Would anyone really be able to tell the difference between a 1K image and a 4K image on a handheld device's screen? :shrugs:
 
It (my camera phone) takes the image in 4k either way- some are supposedly 4k but there's no way to tell.

Could it take them and then resize and dump the originals every hour?
