Question about tummy scales - Behavior.

Hi All,

When my noodle, Peach was smaller it would appear that she would raise her tummy scales to help her hold on to her plants so I couldn't pick her up. As she's gotten older I don't notice her doing it as much. When I asked at the reptile store they said that corn snakes don't use their belly scales to hold onto things. I think they are wrong. I've seen and felt it too many times to believe it wasn't happening. I am VERY careful with her and if she did it I would make sure she was free before pulling her out.

So am I crazy? Can they use their tummy scales to grip onto things?
