Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....

Please be certain that the location field is correctly filled out when you register. All registrations that appear to be bogus will be rejected. Which means that if your location field does NOT match the actual location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected.

Sorry about the strictness of this requirement, but it is necessary to block spammers and scammers at the door as much as possible.

Rich, is there anyway you can control this via the options as an admin? This has to be the most aggrivating thing at times. There are many times I want to simply reply with a smiley face or a single word, but cannot because of this rule. While it's easy enough to overcome with spaces or ..., it's still annoying.

Aww, you poor baby. =P

This is a forum to type posts, is it not? Whats the point of replying with one word or a smiley? Wasted space to me. If you don't want to type out a whole reply...send them a PM.

Besides, now at least you have to say: "Please utilize the search function, it can answer all of your questions and then some. :) "

Rather than: "SEARCH!"

Personally, I'd like to see you can only use so many smilies per line dealio...get sick of the cha-cha line of flaming smilies..

Correct, it's a forum to type posts. Why should posts be subjected to a 10 character limit?

What if someone asks a question in which a one word answer, like yes or no, is most adequate.

Well, currently you have to type more than a simple yes or no answer when it's really not needed.

What about times when someone says something and I just want to respond with a grin smiley, or a wink?

That is an option in the admin section. I believe it is something to the effect of eliminating "me too" types of posts. The reason for it is that any post, no matter how many characters, takes up one record in the database. This restriction is designed to force people to type a MESSAGE, and not just waste database storage with what could be construed as frivolous posts.
