2016 Mystic Exotics Miami Tessera (het Amel) X Amel babies!!

This pairing was a joint pairing with an Amel female from Glacier Rodents, so I could see if Brokk, my Miami Tessera was het for Amel.

He is!!!

The babies started hatching two days ago.Eighteen out of 21 eggs hatched. There were three that did not make it.

There are two Amel Tessera's, seven normal Tessera's, three Amel's, and six normal babies.

I am super excited that he is het for Amel!


I'll post more pics after they shed.

Babies!!

Here are the first 13 babies that have hatched. There are 5 more babies left to hatch, 2 Amel Tessera's, 2 normal Tessera's, and an Amel. Unfortunalte, it looks like one of the Amel Tessera's may not be fully developed.

I'm thinking about holding back one of each. It will depend on the sexes of the ones I like.
There's some nice borders on a few of the babies.

One of the babies didn't make it (#16) :(
That was one I was worried about, hatched at 4grams and looked questionable.

I'll take post-shed pics after they have all shed, and will offer their first meal next week or so.

This clutch seems to be female heavy on first check.
 
Babies have all shed!!

I took some quick pics of the babies, since they have all shed now.
Unfortunately, baby #9, the most aberrant normal baby didn't make it. (She) was horribly kinked, couldn't shed, and had trouble getting around.

I did the initial sexing of the babies. I like to pop them a few times before determining the sex.
