Oh absolutely not for most but if you get a chance to be in their presence with an experienced keeper then it's something many should do. A calm mamba is such an extraordinary animal. They can be very inquisitive. Watching their wheels turn as they investigate something new is always fascinating to me. It takes lots of patience and some keepers aren't willing to put the work in with theirs, but the pay off is huge it watch these lightning quick and skittish animals get past that and metamorphosis into something calm and curious. They are very intelligent when they have the comfort to let their natural defensive guard down.
