Hopefully someone with a lot more experience will post, but in the meantime I'll pass on what I have read elsewhere. The usual advice seems to be to give the snake a good soak for 30 mins or so in an inch of lukewarm water at the bottom of a lidded container, or in a container with damp moss or damp paper towels, and then get him to crawl through a wet towel in your hands a few times which hopefully will gently remove the remaining scraps of shed.

In the meantime, you might want to give some thought about your set up. As I understand it, bad sheds like this can indicate that the humidity levels in your snake's enclosure are too low. Are you heating it with a bulb as opposed to a heat mat? Is there a decent sized water bowl in it? Do you provide a moist hide when your snake is about to shed?

Hope this helps, and that things work out OK.
