Just thinking of all the corns I've had and which were the most enjoyable to keep for w/e reasons, I came up with a poll for everyone :) Please repond with why you like this or that about them!

I like to have young snakes around a yr to 1 1/2 yr olds :) BEcause they are starting to come into their "snakeness" lol They are about that age they are generally calmer than when younger, and aren't really scared by thumping the tubs when pulled out off the rack. Also they grow fast at that size, being on fuzzies and hoppers.
Oh! and they have probably 75% the color they will ever have.

I like just about all the ages. They all have their pros and cons. Hatchlings are cute, because they go through that little hateling stage.

From Juveniles to sub-adults, you can see the color changing and watch them develop.

From Sub Adults to 2 yrs, you can see them come of age. You watch them bulk up around their necks and heads. Their colors really begin to develop.

Adults are fun too, because at this age they eat and poop less often. They are used to being handled and are calm. There usually aren't any surprises.

I agree with Wayne. I have 6 2010s, 4 2009s, 2 subadults & some adults, and I like all of the ages. I've enjoyed watching the changes in my 2009s, I am looking forward to the same in the 2010s, the subadults are still not at their adult coloring but getting there, and the adults are generally sweet & laidback & fun to handle. So I like all ages!

Juveniles and mature adults. Both my corns are getting to the sub adult stage and are still a little shy sometimes, so if I touch them unexpectedly I might get slapped in the face by a tail. All adults I've held (milk snakes mostly, but a few corns and a gopher snake) all calm down eventually and don't mind pettings even right on the head.

Subadults I guess. They are usually well established and feeding well and it's easy to figure out their temperament. With many species that's the most important thing, with corns not so much. They are generally pretty tame for the most part.
