Circling and rubbing nose on glass

Hi there. I'm new to snakes, and got a classic corn almost a month ago. He's (gender is still unidentified) around 3 months old is very friendly and eats well.

Our only concern is that our little Kingji spends almost all his conscious hours, and he's awake most of the evening and the mornings at the very least, circling his tank and rubbing his nose against the glass in a circular motion. If I cover the portion of the tank he's looking at with my hand, he'll stop until I pull it away and then he'll resume pressing against the glass.

His nose doesn't have any sores on it, so I'm not concerned about that. I'm just trying to figure out if he is looking at his reflection and playing, or if he's bored and trying to find a way out.

The viv is a 20 gallon tank with aspen substrate. He has a ceramic water dish, three toilet paper tubes, a driftwood log, and two strings of woven yarn hanging down the sides.

Any suggestions? Should I add more things to keep him happy or does this sound like no big deal? Thanks!

Don't think he's "playing" as they can't see well and don't have a sense of fun. They are curious, however. I think he's just checking out his viv and looking for a way out. No need to add more to your viv unless there's a lot of open space as this can stress them.

Find somewhere that sells plastic plants. Corns love to hide and climb in these and they do a good job of taking up space. I got a couple from walmart for one dollar a piece, and my hatchling, Felix, loves climbing in them.

Also, what's the yarn for? And a picture of the viv would do wonders for people to give suggestions.

putting black paper on the outside of the back and sides might also help settle him down a bit. Make it more secure with the illusion of being in a cave. :)

The yarn is just a way for him to climb. He loves climbing up into it or coiling around it to explore the upper portion of his viv.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've been thinking of getting some of the fake plants, but the store nearest to me doesn't keep them, so I was waiting until I went into the main town. I tried to get some pictures, but they've all turned out blurry and shadowed, but I'll try again in a day or so, as I just fed Kingji today.

Thanks again! It just seemed like unusual behavior from everything I've read.

What's the temperature in the snake's cage? If it's too hot, it may be continually searching for a place where it can cool down.

My MBK does this. If the viv is at the proper temp it is of no concern. The Black paper may help stop it.
