Anyone ordered from here?

Just so you guys are aware, the mice price list is wrong. The adults are NOT .25 cents each, they are .60 cents, which is still reasonable. You can see the proper price when you place items in your cart.

I emailed them about the incorrect list.

Ya know, I thought about this and if they are ADVERTISING a certain price, then it changes at checkout, couldn't they be liable for false advertisment??? :shrugs:

I have never bought frozen from anyone except rodent pro. There prices are not discounted for volume. Some others are. Who does everyone else use? I'm gonna get from a local breeder this time. But I want a steady supply.

What size colony will it take Walter to feed a collection of your size? And be able to stock reserves?

Well, when I order it's no less the 500 per month and sometimes 1000 adding in pinkies & fuzzies. You have to remember, once females become gravid, they usually go off feed a couple weeks before egg deposition, so that's a couple weeks that does not have to be accounted for. Also I feed males a little less than females. Males can be fed every 10 - 14 days and be healthy. Plus I suppliment all my snakes with calcium, vitamins and minerals.

So to answer your question, I could set up 2 colonies of 25.100 (1 to 4 ratio) and have no problems feeding my entire collection. I used to breed my own food supply when I lived back home.

As far as stock reserves, that comes into play during brumation of all the adult snakes. Nothing being fed at that time and mice still breeding, you can stock up the freezer pretty good in that 3 month period when producing 2000 mice a month ;)

I ended up going with Layne Labs for the order I just made. I'd been using American Rodent Supply before that, but they didn't have the sizes I needed :/ And Layne ended up being the best price once shipping was included.

The other one I looked at (Loxahatchee Rodents) actually had brilliant prices, but didn't have the right sizes in stock.

Rodent pro here. A little pricey... Sure. But it's mostly out of convenience for me. The Columbus reptile show... Within driving distance (60 miles), once a month. Plus , I get to hang with a member or two from here on occasion! ; )

I've placed one order with Layne Labs and was pleased. Since I got my rubber boa I had to find some TINY mice...and they had 1 day old pinks available so I placed a second order. Their quantities and prices including shipping are fair enough for me, so until something changes I see myself an LL customer for a while.

Just picked-up my order today from Big Cheese Rodent Factory in Fort Worth Texas. Their prices have been going up over the last year. Pinkies were 17 cents a year ago and went to 22 cents and now to 30 cents.

My order was $103.00 and was for: 50 Small Mice; 50 Hopper Mice; 50 Fuzzy Mice; 50 Large Pinky Mice.

The good thing is that I don't have to pay any shipping but it is about a 70 mile round-trip drive from my home.

Todd:cheers:

We used to order from them (Rodent pro) but now we use LLLreptile.
shipping is included in the price LLL is in Oceanside Ca, and still not cheap but the quality of the feeders is the best of anyone else we,ve tried so far.
I've also bought reptiles from them and the quality was exceptional.
