Ahhhh, this is so very helpful to me on a couple levels. I brought my baby home just yesterday and is in his shedding cycle and no I understand his crankiness

While very helpful, this thread is over 3years old. I'm not sure if any advice or questions will be helpful

It's probably just a little nervous still and once your snake grows more it will soon be comfortable around you.
What I tend to do with my baby is put my hand in the viv, palm showing, and touch his body then lay my hand flat in front so he can smell me and realise I'm not going to harm him. Since I've been doing this, he freely wanders on to my hand and he's nice and calm. Don't get me wrong though, he does have his moody days where he tries to do a 'runner' on me, and in that case, I leave him be.

Try not to handle the snake 48 hours after feeding to I think around about 4 times a week is more than enough spend time with him

Hope this helped a slither

Oh, also! If you're worried about your snake biting you wear some thin leather gloves. Not only will it benefit you but apparently snakes like the feel of the leather too.
