Awesome Pictures!!

Your copperhead (Agkistrodon contortix)actually looks like a baby cottonmouth(Agkistrodon piscivorus). I've never seen a contortix with such a jumbled and disheveled pattern. Copperheads tend to be much smoother with very definitive "hershey kiss" shaped markings. Cottonmouths tend to be MUCH more disheveled and jumbled in the markings.

Juvenile Cottonmouth:

Copperhead:

Either way...very nice pictures!

Not sure what "LD50" means, bt you wouldn't want to get bit by either one. A copperhead will land you in the hospital just as quickly as a cottonmouth...

Actually both CAN kill you....if you are allergic or go into shock. Heck, a bee sting can kill you...if you're allergic.

I'm pretty sure the two are similar in their potency...death from either of their bites being rare.
