Does anyone here from canada order feeder rodents online? I live in PEI with no access to local breeders. Any ideas for getter decent priced feeders? Im currently paying $6 for 4 pinkies.

The only online stores I've found do not ship to canada :(

Snake Snax is in Manitoba. I've heard good things about him and he ships in Canada.

I have no idea how much shipping would be for a package to PEI or cost of dry ice etc. but if anyone local is ever stuck for mice, I raise my own and always have a few extra. Especially pinkies.

I tried snake snax... He wanted $127 in shipping for 50 pinkies and 50 hoppers due to the fact that neither air canada now westjet ship cargo to PEI. had to go with fed ex... Be cheeper to breed my own

I got a sample rate from FedEx of $55 to ship a 1 kg box to a random address in Summerside... with the cost of ice and packaging I guess it would be somewhat more, but $127 almost sounds like the price WITH mice (?)

Also, how many snakes do you have and what weight? One snake is probably never going to eat 50 of each size... plus you'd need fuzzies in between.

Sorry i ment fuzzies. I have 1 snake but planning on getting another soon.

He is currently 21g and eating 2 pinkies every 5 days. Due to eat again tomorrow.

What would be a better suggestion for amounts? I was just guessing as this is my first snake and i have no idea how fast this guy is gonna grow.

I found once they're on double pinkies they suddenly grow faster. I wouldn't be surprised if he was big enough for a small fuzzy really soon. (although my babies are already 30g and I've still got them on two largish pinkies just to use up all the pinkies I froze!)

What kind of price do fuzzies fetch from your supplier? Looking at the Snake Snax quote I see they need a lot of weight of ice. That might account for the high shipping cost. :(

Hmmm so maybe 25 pinks 50 fuzzys and 25 hoppers? Need 100 for a discount lol ill vacuum seal them when they get here

There's got to be a supplier in the Toronto area. There's enough interest in reptiles there.

The breeder I got my pair from recommend a gentlemen named Gary Roberts, just outside of Toronto. I got 50 frozen pinkies from him last night for $20. I picked them up, so there was no shipping charge. Not sure what it would cost to ship them to PEI though.

I don't suppose you have a website or any mail contact for this Garry person do you? :) I'm near toronto too.

I do. Gary's email is [email protected], and the website is www.recorp.ca
The prices on the website are general public prices. If you email Gary, and tell him that Andrew sent you to him, he will give you his "show prices" which are better. Show price is what I paid for the pinkies I bought.

Not a problem!! Wow, I had no idea big al's was charging that much!! Gary is not far from Brampton at all, so you can pick them up, and not have to pay shipping.
