Just to add another data point, I lay a piece of heavy duty aluminum foil down and smooth it on a smooth surface (glass or if you have an old house like me, Formica). Then I place the adhesive of the UTH on the foil. Which side of the foil really doesn't matter from the research I've done. I start at one edge of the UTH and kind of gently roll it onto the foil. Then I trim the excess foil, very carefully from the edges of the UTH. The idea is to minimize bubbles and wrinkles.

I really think that is all that is important. In other respects doing it one way or another doesn't really matter. Don't have wrinkles or bubbles (or do what you can to minimize) and don't damage the UTH in the process --that's all that really matters.

I've done three or four of them now. The first one had some bubbles with slight wrinkles (a very careful needle prick will let the air out). I got better with practice.

Same to you. I'd say "you complete me" but it might not exactly sound like what I mean, lol.
