Frenata (My Most Prized yet) (Warning Lots of Pics!!!!)
The reason I ask is because of the marks on her, specifically above her eye. Also, is her nose like that because of her rubbing it on things?
Also, how are their temperaments? I thought about getting a pair a while back just because I thought they were pretty, but I never looked into their temperament. Aren't they extremely expensive too?
yes these are wc speices. I don't think that there are any frenatas available with cb...or at least I don't know of anyone working with these that are able to reproduce.....
These are wc animals so having scars around is really 'normal' the good news is that they are recovering. The nose part is becoming a lot better than before.
Temperment wise.......
these guys are one of the worst colubrids that I have worked with as far as temperment goes. Extremely nippy and will hit muiltple times....so its not a bit fun handling them.
Also since these are wc animals they get stressed out easily....therefore I don't handle them that much (or at least to try and get themt o calm down with handling....)
Price wise....these guys are very expensive even as wc animals. Cause the numbers are dropping rapidly. Its now hard to find these even in the wild....so price wise...these are extremely high for wv animals.....but are definately worth it. If you do get a chance, I would advice you to take them in immediately and try to work with them. Definately worth the time and effort for these...
You ARE right, the only way to describe those ones are GORGEOUS!!!!!! I love green, my fav color, I wish that corns came in green. I guess I will just stick with the pink and green until someone comes up with a beautiful pastel green corn.
I wouldn't mind getting a green corn snake myself.
Last year I purchased a pair of anerys from a person in Montreal and the reason why I purchased them is because the hatchlings that they produced, some of them have a greenish tint in it.....I didn't actually get to see the corns myself but they were from photos. I know that this guy didn't just edit the photos cause he's a very well known and reputable guy in Montreal. Plus the price for the anery pair was good enough so I purchased them off him. I am hoping to be able to get that pair to breed and produce some babies for me so that I can see them myself...hopefully the 'green corn' will be on its way someday~~
but i really doubt that it'll be anything as bright as these frenatas or the rhino rats that I have.....lol....
