Welcome to the forum and i think it's outstanding that youre looking for advice prior to getting your snake.

You're going to want to up the temperature on the warm side. I keep mine at 86. The tank is on the large side for a baby corn snake. If you get a baby you may want to add some fake plants to provide it with some extra security.

It all depends upon what color morphs you want to buy. Steve Roylance at SR Corns has awesome hatchlings. I've visited BHB reptiles and Brian also has awesome corns. Scroll down to Carol's blog for some terrific Miami corns, and she may have candy canes also.

Personally I would avoid Backwater Reptiles.

Instead I strongly recommend inquiring on these boards about buying a hatchling, especially if you're looking for a specific morph. Many of us are breeders and able to ship throughout the US, and we have some of the best among us. You can bet we can help you find someone who has whatever you're looking for.

Sorry as to size I don't want a very small hatchling but I would also like to watch it grow so around 1 to 2 foot
