Awesome. I visited my uncle in Homestead, Florida (just south of Miami) in 1983 and the first day we were there we had a 6' indigo show up on the front porch. I was hooked on snakes right then and there it was so cool.

That is an amazing snake. It looks huge. I have lived in Florida all my life and have never seen one.

So sad that we don't have those in SC anymore. They eventually migrated out
of the southern coastal area of the state years ago in spite of efforts by
the DNR and wildlife management. Development in the low country SC
destroyed all of the gopher tortoise burrows and it sealed the fate of Indigo
Snakes in SC. I've seen them in captivity but would love to have run up on
one of those beauties in the wild. Beautiful Snakes indeed

One of the major regrets I had with moving to Florida was that I had to give up my breeding colony of Eastern Indigo snakes. I really enjoyed working with the species.
