If you point the flash straight at them i can't imagine it is too much worse than when you get flashed in the eyes but they can't blink so i don't know, if you have a piece of blank white paper or thin white cloth you can cover the flash with (assuming it is built into the camera) you can put it over the flash to diffuse the light and try that. otherwise we all look forward to pics!
