I did another field trip last Saturday. It was a very chilly day for July with temps only reaching 63 for a high but I found a surprising number of herptiles none-the-less.

Here's my tally for the day:
5 eastern garter snakes
1 brownsnake
2 redbellied snakes
1 spotted salamander
1 tiger salamander













I post the salamander photos later...
 
Thanks. The brownsnake had an injury, you can see it in the second photo. It had a small patch on it's back where it was missing some scales. I think maybe a bird or small animal attacked it. It was healing up and I think it will be fine after it sheds a few more times.
