Snake playdates?

Molls

So, I just got my baby corn a a week or so ago, and just today my little sister bought a baby corn as well. Which is totally cool, we get to be snake mommies together. But I was just wondering - would our snakes get along together? We're keeping them in separate tanks and everything, but if we let them meet each other, would they get along? They're both girls, and both around the same age and size, though my sister's is just a bit older and bigger.

I really don't think they want interaction with each other, snakes are solitary in nature. And you could wind up with one trying to eat the other. And if one was to start getting sick and you didn't know it would spread to both snakes.

They don't get along and they don't play.

What you can do though is take alot of pictures for us!! :)

Well I knew they probably wouldn't play, I just used playdate for lack of a better word. :p
I was mostly just wondering if they would try to hurt or kill each other. But now I know - putting snakes together = no. C: I just remember seeing videos/photos that corn snake owners have posted of corn snakes - often many of them - together, and I had to wonder.

I don't think they would attach each other like you could see in such pets like dogs but..... I wouldn't leave them alone either. There has been some photo shoot here with two snake as the subject and I guess a few minutes to gether would be OK I'm guessing you didn't sex them yourself so you are going by what you have been told. And I have read that many snakes have been missed sexed so you do risk the chance of they breeding.

Overall I wouldn't do it.

Also, if they came from different breeders or sources there is always the possibility of introducing your snake or her snake to an unknown illness, say (God forbid) your snake has crypt and her snake doesnt, you may have just given her snake crypt or mites or something that you may both may not be aware of. That is what would be my concern.

If they are opposite sex or both females and are around the same age than you should be fine. However if they are both males, there might be a good chance that they would try fighting each other. I never had a problem housing multiple snakes together.

Wow just wow, you are one of the lucky ones then. There is no reason to even chance it. Cohabbing is bad for the snakes any way you look at it.

I wouldn't chance it. The chances that the snakes were sexed incorrectly is always there. Also they could possibly try to eat each other. Baby corn snakes are known for trying to eat their "friend" from time to time. Some people, like Mike, never have a problem. But when it happens, it is too late to save the snake, or possibly both of them.

Well I never tried baby snakes together only adults and they were either both females or a male and female.
