FYI - Blown cable modem

This afternoon, the wife and I ran into town to run some errands. When we got back, it was obvious that some heavy storms had moved through the area and the power had been knocked out at some point. Evidently my cable modem, and probably my router, took a lightning strike. I had to dredge out my laptop and use and old AOL account to log in.

Anyway, if there is a more direct way for God to send me an omen that I really need to cut back the time I have been spending on the net, I don't know what it would be. But I do still need to check my emails and such.

So anyway, if anyone has been reaching me today, that's why I have not responded. Hopefully CompUSA will be open on the 4th of July and I can get some new gear. Fortunately I took out a 2 year replacement warranty on the network stuff that got blown out of the water the last time I had a lightning strike fry stuff. That was July 28, 2003, so I am just sliding under the wire before the warranty expired. Normally this kind of thing happens three days AFTER the warranty expires, so I guess I am lucky this time!

Anyway, browsing the forums absolutely SUCKS on a dialup! So this is all I am going to do with it and go do something else instead.

Later.....
