Hola! Am damn well freezing now! I really, really want to live somewhere hotter! I wish I'd got piccies of the little geckos, they were just too fast.
Some snakies have shed, so I'll get them out for updates and feed the poor darlings later on.

The Andalucian was one of the big chunky military types, and very friendly.

I speak Spanish and English, but the Spanish they speak in Spain ("real" Spanish ) is tough for me. It's almost like a different language.

I notice there's no "after absinthe" pic. Shall we leave that to the imagination?

The Roman ruins are amazing, and those horses are absolutely beautiful. The bug pics gave me full body shivers.

Glad you had a nice trip.

The 'after' shots are not suitable for a family forum!
The mallorcan dialect was different again from the way spanish was spoken in Barcelona, almost as if it was mixed with french. The locals all spoke really good english but were very patient with my attempts to communicate. A lot of english tourists just don't bother, which is incredibly rude,IMO. When we went to a street market one of the gypsy stall holders helped me with my haggling with her neighbour, then it turned into an impromptu lesson for 20 minutes or so in pronunciation.

I think I really needed to get up earlier in the morning to catch the little blighters basking. The best views were from flipping over rubbish in vacant building lots, which got curious attention from passersby, but as soon as the geckos were exposed they were off!
