!!Rattlesnake on craigs list will be set on fire at noon!!!

Saw this ad on craigslist. If no one picks this snake up it will be set on fire!
Maybe someone can help this snak out before its too late.

What is says

"I have 6 dogs, the last thing i need is to let this snake free. If you are a perfessional snake handler or you know somebody who will take it for research. Please email me. I will set the tank its in on fire at noon. This isn't a pet. I found it out side my horse stall and captured it so it didnt attack my dogs."

Instead of finding someone to contact that person, maybe a quick call to the local PD, is in order!

I'm in Alabama, I cant really do anything myself. Thats why I was trying to find someone who may be local. Even if you all dont like me maybe someone will help this snake. I posted this on 3 forums so maybe someone close can help out. thanks for reading this.

I would agree with Wayne.

There are all sorts people the CL poster could contact to take care of the snake; animal control, the humane society, the DNR, etc. To post an ad on CL and threaten to kill the snake inhumanely is a sign of a disturbed individual imo.

I contacted a snake owner friend in Daytona and asked him if he would contact the local authorities for me. He's going to make some calls to report the CL ad.

I called the Fish and Wildlife Number that I provided. I gave them the exact URL and they said they will look into it. Whatever that means?

It probably means they won't break a sweat over it unless enough people call and complain.

Good work guys, I think very highly of you guys for making the effort to report this. Not too many people would care about a snake enough to call in a report, let alone for a venomous one. I hope your efforts can help this animal, thanks!

The sad thing is that we will never know if our efforts fell on deaf ears. Not that, that matters, because it's worth the efforts.
