A fellow teacher met me in the hall before school. It seems his son was sweeping the porch and found an adorable baby corn! He handed me a coffee can with this little cutie inside. It's quite a gentle little thing, and has some lovely colors. Here are a couple of quick pictures. They're not the greatest, but I don't want to pester the baby too much until s/he's had more of a chance to settle in.
I've name it Chess in honor of the Chesser family who found it. I just love the speckles and dots on its head! It will be a school snake for at while, at least. If it's female may hang onto it for the longer term. If it's male, it'll be released near where it was found. Thanks for looking.
