Is it possible to change the duration in which you are allowed to edit a post and delete a thread? Some of my for sale posts can no longer be edited, and it would be nice to be able to edit the original post to add new animals or indicate who has been sold.

On multiple occasions I have seen people create a new for sale thread and specifically mention that they did so because they could no longer edit the old one.
 
Sure. I changed the limit to 365 days.

Sorry, but I do have to have some sort of limit, because a long while back some people got themselves into a snit over something and went and edited and deleted their old posts, which totally screwed up the threads they had participated within.

If it happens again, then I am afraid I will have to but the clamp back down where it was previously.

But for now, we'll see if this works.
