This poll has been created to allow all interested members to vote on the list of applicants for being a moderator on this site. This is a multiple choice poll, so please vote on however many applicants you want to. Between one (1) and three (3) will then be made as moderator(s) for this site. Voting will continue for an undetermined amount of time to allow as many votes as possible to be placed.

If you want to check on the member profile of any of the applicants, simply click on their name in the poll, as this has been set up to link directly to those profiles.

Sorry Rich, but there are a few people you listed as possible Mods who at times are quite antagonistic towards some people on here. I voted for those I felt weren't, and I feel it will be a sad day for this forum to have to resort to Mods in the first place. Just my 2 cents.

I don't think Rich picked the could-be-Mods himself. Some of the people you see there volunteered themselves for the list.

All of the mods on the list either volunteered or were nominated by other members. A couple who were nominated declined and were removed from the list prior to the poll being created.

I too had hoped that moderators would not be necessary here. Recent events have pretty much proved that this was folly on my part.

As for the choices for mods, that is in YOUR hands, not mine. I believe that is the fair way to do this here. If the majority vote for NO mods, then that would certainly carry a lot of weight as well.

It's your choice. Vote and be counted. If you don't vote, you have no voice in this matter.

I haven't really any particular timeframe in mind. I'd rather close it later rather than too soon, however. It normally takes a while before something like this even registers to most people. The more votes, the more accurate the consensus, I believe.....

I feel the only person for the job of Moderator is someone who's always around and has lots of good things to say about people. And she always seems to be able to respond to most anyone's post. And I think that's a great way to make newbies feel welcome and the rest of the group that's been around feel like their posts are noticed. So that's why I voted for Tula.

Just look at the number of posts she's done in the short time she's been a part of this forum. She puts a LOT of effort into this forum and is very much available to keep an eye on things. I don't think you could have a better moderator.

What I intend to do from here is to make the top three (3) as site moderators for all of the forums. They will have full privileges to edit and delete posts and threads here as well as ban and unban any members who get way out of line.

I will be setting up a special forum for these mods and myself to discuss issues privately when it is necessary to do so.

Just a word here, however. It has been my experience that some people will just rankle at being "moderated" no matter who it is. And I expect that they may come to me with complaints about it. If you choose to do so, have all your ducks lined up in a row. Facts, details, dates, and evidence will be the rule here. I will simply ignore vague generalizations sent to me where there is no meat on the platter. There is always the possibility that a moderator may go off the deep end with enforcement. But in such cases, the evidence will be CLEAR and unambiguous. I do HOPE this will not happen, however.
