Whole Snake Shed Found

I was walking through the woods hunting and out of the corner of my eye I spotted something out of place. It was a fully intact snake shed. I was wonder if there was a way you can tell what kind or snake it is from. I live in Southern New Jersey.

I will when I get home. I measured the shed from head to tip of the tail not the vent and it was 4 feet and 1 inch.

Sheds can stretch quite a bit, so he was probably about 3.5 feet.

Probably a Black Racer or a Black Rat Snake.
Racers have smooth scales.
A shed Black Rat Snake skin would have slight keels along the back.
Here's a Black Rat Snake shed that I saw in a tree in late July:

Yes it did have keels on the back and looks excactly like that one thank you.
