This is just the cornsnakes, I am leaving out the blue tongue skink, leopard gecko, rosy boas and pet rats.

Calvin - amel boy. Amels were the first "designer" snake so he was named after Calvin Klein.

Kate - I liked the name and thought it went with Calvin.

Keeper - first snake I ever hatched. Only one out of 12 eggs to hatch. Naturally a keeper!

Sniper - hatched the year of the DC sniper,2002.

Snafu - unexpected color, a total snafu!

Sangria - sweet and red, like the wine

Horcrux - A Harry Potter referance, any fan will understand the meaning!

Havoc - I liked the meaning.

Hatteras - After the weather station on Cape Hatteras.

Kismet - I think it means fate, I liked the sound of it.

Kato - was Katrina until I saw hemipenes!

Kessler - Kramer's original name (in the first episode) of Seinfeld.

Beacon - will prove or disprove whether Kismet, Kato and Kessler are striped bloods, and turn a beacon on them!

Syko - was a psycho baby.

Steve Irwin - after the croc hunter.

I hopefully have 4 coming this year, 1 is a hypo blood hatched and feeding, 2 are lavenders that are hatched and havent fed yet, and one is a lavender and is due to hatch next week.
Their names...

Elphaba - the hypo blood. The name of The Wicked Witch Of The West.

Lugosi - his father's name is Vlad, so I named him after the actor who played Dracula in 1931.

Luna - Vlad's daughter, named after the goddess of the moon.

Javelin - a spear. I believe Vlad is her father as well.

Yes, I think I do! Over the years, I must have named at least 300 snakes, and only a small handful are duplicates (such as when a named hatchling dies and gets replaced), and even then, they get a "II" after their name.

Some names were very thought out, such as Koushoku is Japanese for "yellow" and Karumera is Japanese for "caramel". They are my pair of caramel motleys het butter. And it took me several days to find just the right name for my jungle corn, Kong.

Other names have a theme, such as many of my zigzags...Double Zee, Zephyr, Zelda, Zach, Zythe, etc. Many of my ghosts also have theme names (of course)...Casper, Boo, Spirit, Spectra, Phantom.

Then there are the "family" names - Jennifer's Snake II is the mother of Little Jenny and Mermaid (Jennifer is my daughter and at the time her keeper hatchlings were named, she was into The Little Mermaid). One of my ghost motley females was named Ariel because of my daughter (but no relation to Jennifer's Snake II). Alamo, Lambada and Amabelle were named because of their father Amel Bamo. Kiss was named after her father, Hershey.

Some names almost pooped out of thin air...such as Why (she has the letter "Y" on her head), Desdemona (my anery zigzag), Peaches and Cream (my pastel ghost and coral snow pair), and Pretty simply because she initially wasn't a keeper, I had already named her sibling keepers but didn't want any more in their theme (Karyn, Kathlyn and Kate), and I just liked her small aberrant pattern...it's pretty.

I have snakes named after mythological persons/beings from multiple cultures.
I've also named snakes simply because of their color, pattern or genetics...Double Het, Snow, Amel, Anery, Inca and Maya (both were amel aztecs) and Butter.

Naming snakes can be fun and frustrating, but always something I will continue to do. If I ever have to resort to numbers or letters for my keepers, I'm getting out of corns as that will mean I no longer care about them like I used to.
